DEBBIE KASPER
Debbie Kasper is a headlining stand-up comedian, an award winning actress as well as an Emmy nominated writer, director, producer, teacher and humor author. She's been entertaining America for more than two decades, spreading laughter wherever she goes.
She has written for several television shows including "Roseanne" and "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," and was the head writer for I-BASH, the seminal 8 hour extravaganza Internet show, (re-Broadcast on PAX) starring David Spade, The Who, Tony Bennett, The Dixie Chicks, Natalie Cole, Kiss, and more. She won the prestigious Drama-Logue Award in Los Angeles for her one-woman show, "Without ME, MY Show is Nothing," which was hailed as a masterpiece by more than one paper, and was produced in several markets on both coasts. She was nominated for two Emmy awards for her television writing. She co-wrote a humor book, a parody of John Gray's "Mars and Venus on a Date,"entitled "Bras and Penus On a Date." This book has been translated into four languages, and sold on five continents, and was a bestseller in Australia.
But it's live theatre that has stolen her imagination, her time and heart. She learned her love of theatre at Windham College in Putney Vermont, where she got her BFA, and worked several summers at Windham Summer Repertory Theatre. She then received her Masters Degree from The Pennsylvania State University in Theatre Arts, and has acted in directed, written and or produced more than 100 plays in NY, LA, Vermont, and in various markets around the country. After touring the country for several years with the outrageous interactive show: SELF-HELP THE COMEDY, (to rave reviews) which she co-wrote, co-directed, and co-starred in with comedian Sheila Kay--Zelda Bing emerged as the break out hit guru, bringing down the house across America. This led Debbie to develop a new piece, just for Zelda, "Zelda Bing: Manhandler. " Debbie's taught stand-up, performing, comedy writing, and her specialty: One person show workshops on both coasts; privately as well as at UCLA. Debbie's new show is a musical parody which she co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced with partner Pat Sierchio, "BoomerMania," a Rocking Roll Thru the Times of Your Life.
